    Extravagant but Prefect

0 5/5 Bryan G Sachse - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: BEEM Romanov III (5 Liter) Stainless Steel Samovar, Made in Germany, Silver (Kitchen) Does one really need a samovar? I suppose not, but when I making Sunday (or Saturday) breakfast (say blinis for example) being able to refill your teacup at will seems needful. And it does look as good as it functions (how German!). And if you are going to buy a samovar having a budget for it seems pointless. With this samovar 5 liters of tea does not seem like a lot. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 6, 2013

    Totally Rockin'

I've often thought that "Electric Samovar" would be an awesome name for a punk/klesmer/Russian rock band (a bit like the Red Elvises, but with more klezmer like the band in the film Dummy). After using this particular electric samovar, my convictions are reinforced. This thing is amazing.First of all, the sheer design is impressive. My husband, a Russian transplant, has never had an electric samovar before, but when he unwrapped this highly polished, German-streamlined take on a traditional Russian form, his love for clean, modern design filled his eyes. All the parts are metal except for a plastic-like washer between the pouring handle and the spout and the porcelain handles and knobs. Even the ornately formed pouring handle—which probably would have been silvered plastic on a Made In China version—is highly polished 18/10 steel. The total effect is aristocratic yet clean design, as if Ekaterina the Great had taken a shine for minimalism... 5/5 Math Mom - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good Samovar for a Beginning User

I always wanted a samovar, but found an in-store search impossible. Most tea shops didn't know what one was and, even in Los Angeles, I couldn't find a Russian supplier. When I found this on Amazon, I found the look a little modern, but still elegant. So, I ordered one just to check it out.The samovar isn't very tall, no more than about 18-20" tall. However, the bottom portion holds a great deal of water and heats fairly quickly. I tend to fill the bottom first thing in the morning, turn it on, and leave it on all day (I drink tea all day long). I can usually get about 6-8 mugs of hot water and about a good dozen or so tea cups of water. The samovar automatically detects when the water cools and re-heats the water as needed. The teapot on top is very small for me. Only holds about 4 teacups and the opening is small for my tea ball so I'm forced to use teabags. The heating unit for the teapot is separate, so I can put on a pot of tea and then leave... 5/5 L. An ideal samovar

For those of you looking for a Russian-style samovar to make Russian-style zavarka (tea concentrate), this samovar works perfectly. It plugs into a standard outlet and keeps water hot by boiling it every half hour to forty-five minutes. The teapot on top sits on a large opening in the top of the samovar and is heated by the steam rising from the boiling. It cooks Russian Caravan and other smoky teas in one boiling cycle, though the longer you cook your concentrate on the samovar, the stronger and more flavorful the tea becomes. The pot remains very warm but is never too hot to handle. The water-release mechanism works great; you turn the key and water comes out into the waiting cup. As the water levels lower, the stream of water gets slower and slower, and if you are using a tiny teacup the distance from spigot to countertop might cause some splashing, but this is easily fixed by either adding more water or lifting the cup up. There is a setting on one of the handles to move between... 4/5 Lev (Virginia United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Poor Quality Product & Poorer Customer Service

I am avid tea drinker and I bought this item to enjoy a cup of tea. However, after trying the product two times, I realized that the product is working really poorly. The quality of the tea brewed with this product was lower than a low-quality teapot. Moreover, the bottom part takes forever to boil water and after it boils, it takes forever to fill a cup of tea with water.Overall, the product is too low quality. I contacted the seller to return the item 4 weeks ago. Since 4 weeks the seller keeps sending me e-mails to hold the item until they give a decision. At the end, they just informed me that their return policy does not allow me to return this product.First, I am completely dissatisfied with the poor quality of the product.Second, I am completely dissatisfied with the poor quality of this seller's customer service which took 4 weeks and 15 back and forth e-mails to tell me that they do not accept the return.I opened a claim about it and... 1/5 Fatih - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great discovery

0 5/5 J. Torre de Silva (MADRID, MADRID Spain) - See all my reviews This review is from: Best of the Red Army Choir (Audio CD) Both the compositions and the performance are remarkable, above expectations. The music in this CD has a great emotiveness that can be shared no matter ideological questions. You can perceive a very intense feeling of comradeship and of belonging to a group that is essential in human nature from tribal times. Also some of the exaggeration and grandiloquence that was characteristic of the Soviet regime can be found sometimes, but in this case it sounds sincere. However, anybody who likes classic music would enjoy it.The performance is very appropriate for this kind of music. It has nothing to do with the meaningless, empty and mechanical interpretation quite usual in military music. The Choir transmits a broad variety of feelings. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 24, 2004

    I loved it!

0 5/5 BasinBictory "Mister Basin to You" (Nowhere in particular) - See all my reviews This review is from: Best of the Red Army Choir (Audio CD) Even though I cannot speak Russian, the quality of this choral group is beyond excellent. Many of these pieces are extremely moving and stirring. The rendering of the Soviet anthem and the song "Let's Go" (V'put) come to my mind. "Let's Go" became a huge hit in Russia when it was featured in a movie about the Great Patriotic War, and indeed, hearing it - you can well imagine ranks upon ranks of hard-eyed, grim-faced Soviet soldiers striding into battle against the Wehrmacht. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 22, 2007
